Due to continuing expansion, this family owned, design and manufacturing organisation are taking on a Mechanical Design Engineer. This is a varied role and the successful candidate needs to have Mechanical Design skills, ambition and experience in the Medical / Scientific industry.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a team to produce designs for the in-house manufacturing and design of various pharmaceutical based products. Working in a fast-paced environment you be able to adapt to changing situations and be very hands on. In this role you will have the chance to develop your technical skills and you will be involved in various complex projects and Scientific projects.

Mechanical Design Engineer Duties:

  • Specification, design and procurement of mechanical devices and scientific instrumentation
  • Outlining, sketching and communicating ideas and concepts
  • Ensure full testing of all new products, to include verification against design inputs by collecting and analysing data from prototypes
  • Development of new systems and equipment to meet customer requirements.
  • Initiation and monitoring of in-house products to ensure design standards are achieved.

Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:

  • HNC/D or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • 3D CAD – Inventor (or similar)
  • Experience in Mechanical Design
  • Experience in the Medical / Scientific industry
