We are working with a well reputed financial services company who are looking for a Technical Project Manager to support the Head of Projects in overseeing technical projects that help ensure they always acting in the customers best interests.
This award-winning company is a specialist lender with a social purpose and an emphasis on financial inclusion. They are now looking to expand their post-covid growth by adding to the project management team.
As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing a variety of projects from launch to roll-out and be tasked with monitoring and reporting on the progress throughout. The role will be hands-on, so you’ll have to relish getting involved with requirement gathering, process mapping, and all project documentation.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning the delivery of technical projects, most commonly application development
- Managing the delivery of technical projects, adhering to project objectives, budget, resource allocation and deadlines.
- Owning and managing the project to support the full SDLC
- Chairing required project meetings, both with stakeholders to obtain project progress reports and to the project customer and sponsor to provide project progress reports.
- Accountability for all project documentation, from initial project brief & mandate through to post project review papers.
- Identifying and evaluating the risks and issues associated with project activities and take appropriate action to control the risks.
- Ensuring project benefits analysis activities take place, the project business case, post project implementation review and adjustments required due to changes in the project.
- Becoming the lead subject matter expert within the company regarding software improvements.
Requirements:
- A minimum 3 years’ experience in delivering technical projects, specifically application development, is required.
- Experience of end-to-end management of projects eg. conception to delivery
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to deliver multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
- Good understanding of software solutions.
- Experience in managing risks, issues and change within project.
- Experience of delivering a full system implementation is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical and data interrogation.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Visio, Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience working in a FCA regulated company (desirable but not essential)
