Project Manager – Finance/IT £50-60,000 + Bonus

A dynamic niche Financial Services business based in Lancashire, who have undergone a significant period of grow and change, are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to support them through a period of change.

Following a significant investment, the company have experienced year on year growth from both a revenue and headcount perspective, they now have a number of business-critical projects to enable them to put more structure and control around their systems, processes and people. The successful candidate will have previously worked in a fast-growing SME business and supported them through this period of transition.

What will you be doing?

  • End to end operational process review – looking at the current ways of working, identifying areas of improvement and subsequently process re-design
  • Looking at the current Business Systems – Review current systems and ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Where necessary, advise and identify which systems need to be replaced and/or upgraded.
  • Build effective relationships at all levels within the business to ensure all employees are engaged with the business changes.

Day-to-day, this will look like:

  • Managing multiple Projects simultaneously
  • Requirements gathering including process definition
  • Ensuring documentation and process control is in place
  • Project reporting to the Senior Management team
  • Managing ‘up’ and ‘pushing’ back

What are the core attributes?

  • Flexible and adaptable with a ‘turn your hand to anything’ attitude
  • Be willing to get “into the weeds” within the business and really understand the drivers
  • Self-starter who wants to work autonomously
  • Solutions focused and pragmatic

What are the essential skills?

  • 5 years+ project management within a SME
  • Ideally have a recognised Project management qualification e.g Prince 2
  • Outstanding communication and energy
  • Ability to communicate with people from all levels of the busines
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes for the organisatin
  • Experience of working within either day-to-day Finance or IT
  • Work to high standards to ensure accurate and timely delivery
  • Ability to bring people with you on the journey.

This is not the role for the feint-hearted, it will need someone with a tenacious approach to deliver value to the business as a whole, from day 1 you’ll be getting stuck into a variety of exciting projects and becoming a valued member of the team.

The Package:

  • £50-60,000 base salary
  • Opportunity to work autonomously
