Head of Finance – Niche Manufacturing/Engineering – Hybrid

We are working exclusively with an SME Manufacturing/Engineering business based in Cheshire, who are looking for a Head of Finance to take control of the day-to-day finance, develop the finance function within the business and lead a small team.

The Company
The company has recently been acquired by a much larger group and on the back of this they are creating a Head of Finance role, to support them with the transition from a financial reporting perspective into the larger group.

The Role
The company are looking for a fully Qualified Accountant, who has recent experience of working within a manufacturing/engineering business, to be responsible for the day-to-day finance and lead a small team. They will also be tasked with improving all aspects of finance during this transition which will include monthly/annual reporting, providing in-depth financial analysis and guidance in all activities across the business, improving systems/processes and working with the SLT to ultimately grow the business.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage the company’s accounting function, including but not limited to:
  • Preparation of reports and analysis for SLT and Group Head Office on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Prepare monthly company and consolidated accounts and associated reporting pack.
  • Present and discuss the monthly results with SLT and parent company.
  • Present annual accounts to the Board as well as staff.
• Oversight of budgeting process
• Managing existing budget and development of future budgets regarding cost build ups
• Take ultimate responsibility for the company cash management
• Maintain tight financial controls, ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
• GDPR Data Controller: oversee the company policy and direction of Data protection.
• Manage Payroll

The Person
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant who will have recent experience of leading a small finance function within a Manufacturing business. They will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as they will be required to interact with people from all levels within the business including the SMT and the Parent Company. They will also be responsible for the development of the finance function including people, process and systems.

• Qualified accountant (CGMA/ACCA/ACA)
• Previous experience in Manufacturing – MRP, BoMs etc.
• Experience presenting at SLT and Board Level.
• Strong people management experience.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (the company currently operates Microsoft NAV 2018).
• Knowledge and experience of Payroll Accounting.
• Knowledge and experience of VAT.

Package:
£60-70k base + Benefits Package
