Front End Developer – Javascript

A dynamic, market-leading global business (40+ websites) located in Leeds are growing out their technical capability from their UK HQ to enable significant growth in their strong sector.

As the Front-End Developer, you will be at the forefront of website changes (within a new team), improving the look and feel across different websites in their portfolio. You will be coding primarily in vanilla.js and REACT.js for the time being; whilst the newly established team decide on the more ‘bleeding edge’ tech stack to use!

They are now embarking on a fresh 2020/2022 roadmap which sees the company focussing on driving the strategic benefits of their multi-site setup. They will be embarking on a re-platforming project in 9 to 12 months, extensively using React/ Vue or similar

Flexible working hours with the option to work from home – 100% remote at this time.

**from Spring 21 onwards there will ongoing working from home; with a couple of days a week in-office with the team**

This is a role where the Hiring Manager talks extensively about ‘the person’:

Skills and experience:

• At least 4 years’ experience as a Front-end Developer
• CSS / HTML / Javascript
• RESTful API’s / Web security
• TDD with a quality approach to coding
• Proactive and positive approach to your work
• Able to work with autonomy and independence
• Agile experience would be an advantage (but will also be learned in the role)

Duties will include:

• Site and theme updates, re-design – functional / look and feel
• Cross-team collaboration to decide of a new Front End ‘tech stack’
• Delivering new functionality to the transactional aspects of the site (baskets)
