My client is a global R&D and engineering company in the life sciences sector. Due to an uplift in projects, they are looking for a Senior level Mechanical Design Engineer ideally from a refrigeration background.

Working in a fast-paced R&D environment, you will be tasked with taking projects through from cradle-to-grave, adhering to exacting design processes, tolerances and standards. The work will be a mix of legacy and new product development work on cutting edge product range that is both technically demanding and rewarding due to its healthcare/scientific applications.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating outside the usual remit of a ‘mechanical design’ as they will be doing in-depth modelling/simulations, theoretical work and touching on electrical and gas engineering.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:

  • HND/C or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Extensive experience with refrigeration/cooling systems – or similar
  • Thermal modelling / thermal dynamics experience
  • DC Electrical experience
  • 3D CAD – (SolidWorks, Pro-E/Creo, Inventor – or similar)
  • Life Science background – desirable
