Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum Pension, Bonus

A fantastic opportunity has emerged at a leading Energy Engineering company in the Cheshire/South Manchester area for an experienced Mechanical Engineer, ideally from a power generation/energy background.

Working closely with Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers, you will be tasked with seeing full turnkey projects through from start to finish in a cost effective way. This includes customer liaison, site visits, technical specs, mechanical calculations, procurement, 2D CAD – P&IDs, GA Diagrams safety assessments etc. through to installation and commissioning.

Essential Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

  • HNC/D or BEng in Mechanical Engineering
  • Significant experience with power generation – ideally cogeneration (CHP), Tri-generation
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and complete mechanical calculations to a high level
  • Full lifecycle project support
  • Microsoft suite – Project, Excel, Word etc.


  • Building services experience – BIM
  • HVAC experience
  • 2D CAD – AutoCAD
