This start-up has just signed off on contracts worth £20m revenue in 2018. They are looking to build a team of talented, high quality developers in Manchester to grow their global reach. The CTO is passionate about training and developing junior or graduate developers by constantly pushing their knowledge and trialling new technology. This is an extremely well backed start up and is born from a well known more established tech business in Manchester.

This is an opportunity for graduate or junior developers to work on something that will change the way financial institutions work by pulling in big data and using AI and machine learning to create a piece of software that constantly evolves as cyber criminals become more sophisticated.

The CTO is a serial entrepreneur who has a track record of building and nurturing tech business from start up, to scale up to sale. With the contracts that are already in place this business looks set to take the world of fintech and reg tech by storm in 2018 and beyond. As part of this growth it is essential that they bring on board talented, focused junior or graduate software developers.

About You

As a junior  / graduate software developer, you’ll have a problem-solving mentality that searches for solutions where the average coder wouldn’t find them. At this level they are not looking for you to have all the answers right now, but they would like you to have an inquisitive mentality with a genuine passion for software development. It does not matter if you are a self taught coder, a graduate or have taken part in an intensive code camp, if you have a passion for tech and aptitude to learn this role is for you.

This is a start-up environment that is fast-paced and constantly changing, so a junior or graduate software developers contributions to the project and technology development will be crucial to this growing business. An interest in cyber security, fintech / regtech, AI and big data would be good, but not essential. This business is committed to training and developing junior / graduate developers with an individual budget set aside for each member of staff to attend courses, seminars and hackathons relevant to your job. Added to this the CEO has a track record of mentoring developers to get them to a high standard quickly.

Tech Stack

So, what do graduate or junior software developers need to be part of this exciting tech business? A genuine passion for coding and technology regardless of which language you code in. The CTO of the business has the philosophy that “good code is good code in any language” so he’s not concerned about your background as long as you share his and the other junior developers passion for code. However, any experience in any of the following languages will be an advantage:

The first stage of this interview will be an informal interview at 7.30am with the CTO of the business at a Manchester cafe. Interviews will take place week commencing 29th October – 9th November.

 

The hiring process takes 5 days and will include

  • 1st informal interview over breakfast at a Manchester cafe
  • A technical task taken in your own time over 48 hrs
  • A final interview / meet the team.
