Salary: £20,000 - £23,000 + Benefits

The Client

My client are looking for an enthusiastic graduate software developer who is passionate about technology and has a great attitude to learning. Based in the vibrant heart of Liverpool city centre they provide an innovative SaaS (Software as a service) platform that enables businesses to be more efficient and agile.

Working in a small but growing software development team you’ll be working alongside some senior developers who will mentor you closely from day one. As a graduate software developer you’ll be working within a team that is focused on a range of projects including bespoke mobile apps and their own SaaS platform.

The Role

Unusually for a  junior / graduate developer role you will have a real impact on customers from a very early stage of your career. You’ll be creating bespoke reports for clients based on their feedback to the product team. After a short training period you’ll be given responsibility to manage your own deadlines and workload, meaning a high level of responsibility and maturity is required.

Core Skills

  • Design and develop custom exports and job sheets for customers in PHP
  • Build custom reports using MySQL
  • Development bug fixes and small changes
  • Work on a varied stack including PHP5/7, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL
  • Respond to customer support queries, investigate and resolve problems
  • Providing third line support for applications and systems
  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Skills in PHP and at least one other programming language
  • Good knowledge of MySQL
  • End to end project experience
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies
  • Strong communication skills

Nice to have (non essential)

  • HTML5/CSS, Kohana, jQuery, Bootstrap
  • Linux/UNIX and associated command line and shell scripting tools
  • Source code management tools, preferably Git
