This business is a large multi-site business who specialises in bespoke machinery used in a number of industries. As a result of their continued growth, we are looking for a new Head of Engineering to drive the R&D functions forward and manage a large team of multi-disciplined engineers.

This Head of Engineering role reports directly to the Managing Director on a day to day basis. There will be four direct reports covering mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.

This is a business critical role and is ideally looking for someone to start in the first quarter of 2019. You’ll be given the autonomy to drive forward the engineering activities ensuring all milestones and targets are achieved. You’ll be responsible for staff development, motivating and improving the skills in the team.

Head of Engineering Requirements:

  • Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Overall Systems Design experience
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes including casting, welding and fabrications
  • Overall project responsibility including risk and product compliance
  • Industry experience ideally with electro-mechanical/special purpose machinery
  • Strong leadership & communication skills
