Our FTSE client is looking for a Support Administrator with Strong Unix experience to join the infrastructure support team, you will learn Red Hat unless you already have it!
This company is undergoing a large scale transformation of its back end systems, and are currently looking to identify someone to help the team support leading edge technology. You will receive free on-site parking and gym membership, shift allowance plus paid out of hours.

Working with a small, highly accomplished team you will be at the core working with very skilled engineers.

As a Support Engineer your duties will include:

  • Ensuring SLA & operational KPI’s are met, working as necessary with internal and external support functions
  • Critical support and maintenance of Unix services (Red Hat) 5 / 6 / 7.
  • Contribution to the technical enhancements, where your recommendations will be listened to.
  • Installing and supporting monitoring tools.
  • Patching / security.

To be a successful Support Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Unix experience, ideally (Red Hat) coming from a medium to large scale business.
  • Physical and virtual server experience will be essential.
  • Positive and forward attitude to learning.
  • Flexible and helpful approach.

You will learn / be directly exposed to:

  • Red Hat
  • ‘Lots’ of different systems.
  • Implementing PCI compliance.
  • Significant on ‘on the job’ training.
  • SC Linux.
  • Puppet.
  • Involved in bringing on board system automation.

In return you will receive a salary to £35,000 per annum plus on call rota (c£2,000 / £3000 pa) + benefits
